v) Call our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline at 1627.
vi) Visit any M1 shop / Customer Service Centre / M1 Exclusive Distributor.
vii) Key #100*7# and <Send> (only available to Prepaid customers).

Q1 What is M1 Connecting Tones?
A1 M1 Connecting Tones is a value added service, which allows you to replace the normal connecting tone with a connecting tone, a special effect connecting tone and/or a DIY connecting tone (i.e self-created connecting tone).
 
You can choose your connecting tone to suit your personality and mood. Your callers will be entertained with your connecting tone before the call is answered.
  The service is available to both M1 postpaid and prepaid customers.
   
Q2 What are the charges for M1 Connecting Tones?

The first connecting tone purchased is chargeable at $2.14 per calendar month. Subsequent connecting tones are chargeable at $1.61 per connecting tone per calendar month. Monthly recurring charges apply for all tones unless tone is deleted from "My Library". Charges will be deducted from your Super IDD balance first (if applicable), then main card balance.

Q4 What will happen if an M Card/SuperPac customer does not have sufficient balance in his card on the 1st of the month where monthly subscription and connecting tone renewal is due?

In the event that any deduction for subscription is unsuccessful on any month due to insufficient card balance, customer's M1 Connecting Tones account will be suspended for a maximum of 3 days. Customers need to perform a top up within 3 days and request for the suspension for the account to be lifted via 101*. Once unsuspended, the account will be active again. Subscription will be charged from the day the suspension is lifted on a pro-rated basis. They will be charged a full month subscription again on the 1st of every month, from the next month onwards. All connecting tones in the customer's library will be deleted if any deduction fails. In such event, customers will need to repurchase any deleted tones which they wish to retain after they have performed a top up / reload.
   
Q5 What will happen if M Card/SuperPac customer does not perform a top-up/reload within the 3 days where service is suspended?
A5
If deduction for monthly subscription is unsuccessful after 3 days, your M1 Connecting Tones service will be deactivated permanently. You will need to subscribe to the service again.
   
Q6 How do I subscribe to M1 Connecting Tones?
A6 You can subscribe via the following channels:

Q8 I am subscribed to the M1 Connecting Tones service. How do I enjoy the one (1) free connecting tone replacement feature per month?
A8 i) Via m1.com.sg/connectingtones website: Click on the connecting tone that you want as your free connecting tone per month, click on “Buy”. If you are entitled for your free connecting tone replacement per month, you will be prompted to purchase this connecting tone or use it to replace any connecting tones in your library. Select “Replace”. Click on the “Replace” button of the connecting tone that you would like to replace. Select “OK”. Please do not delete connecting tones in your library before you replace any connecting tones. Note that replacement feature is not applicable for discounted tones.

ii) Via 101*: Select the connecting tone that you want as your free connecting tone replacement per month. If you are entitled for your free connecting tone replacement per month, you will hear a prompt to inform you that you have a free connecting tone replacement per month. Select the connecting tone and replace this connecting tone with any connecting tones in your library. Please do not delete connecting tones in your library before you replace any connecting tones. Note that replacement feature is not applicable for discounted tones.
   
Q9 Can I pre-listen to connecting tones?
A9 Yes, you can pre-listen to connecting tones through the following channels:
i) Call 101* (standard airtime charges apply).
ii) Log on to m1.com.sg/connectingtones
iii) Log on to MiWorld Mobile on your mobile phone > Music > M1 Connecting Tones (standard data charges apply).
   
Q10 Will my callers hear my connecting tone when I am overseas?
A10 Yes, your callers will hear your connecting tone when you are overseas.
   
Q11 How do I let my callers hear the “normal connecting tone” when I am overseas?
A11 You can download/purchase a “Local Ring Tone” from the web. Log on to m1.com.sg/connectingtones, “Special Effects” > “Connecting Tones” category and select “Local Ring Tone”. “Local Ring Tone” is chargeable at $2.14 per calendar month.
   
Q12 How can I unsubscribe from the service?

  My Library
Q13 What is “My Library”?
A13 “My Library” allows you to manage your connecting tones as follows:
  • Allows you to store up to 20 connecting tones (including Music Box) at any one time.
  • Displays your connecting tone settings for all your connecting tones.
  • Allows you to change your connecting tone settings for “My Personal Connecting Tone”, “My Caller Specific Connecting Tone” and My Time Specific Connecting Tone”.
  • Allows you to add/edit/delete connecting tones.
(Note:Connecting Tone charges are recurred every calendar month if you do not delete the connecting tones from “My Library”.)

You can access “My Library” via the following channels:
i) Log on to m1.com.sg/connectingtones > Select “My Library”
ii)Log on to MiWorld Mobile on your mobile phone > Music > M1 Connecting Tones > “My Library” (standard data charges apply)
   
Q14 What is the connecting tone playing priority for “My Caller Specific Connecting Tone”, “My Time Specific Connecting Tone” and “My Personal Connecting Tone”?
A14 “My Caller Specific Connecting Tone” will be the first priority, followed by “My Time Specific Connecting Tone” and “My Personal Connecting Tone”.
   
Q15 What happens if I have deleted all connecting tones from “My Library”?
A15 As you are still subscribed to M1 Connecting Tones service, your callers will hear a default M1 connecting tone. You can add new connecting tones to "My Library" anytime.
   
Q16 What happens if I purchased more than 1 connecting tone and did not make any personal connecting tone settings?
A16 All your connecting tones in your library will be played randomly for all callers.
   
  Personal Connecting Tone
Q17 What is “My Personal Connecting Tone”?

“My Personal Connecting Tone” will be the connecting tone played to every caller. The connecting tone will not be played for callers set for “My Caller Specific Connecting Tone” and at time-belts where another connecting tone has been set for “My Time Specific Connecting Tone”

Q20 Can I send a connecting tone as a gift to my friends?

You can send “Connecting Tone as Gifts” to another M1 Connecting Tones subscriber. The gifted connecting tone will be stored in the recipient’s library. He/She can manage the connecting tone settings via "My Library". If your friend is not a M1 Connecting Tones subscriber, you will be notified with an SMS and you will not be charged. You can send “Connecting Tone as Gifts” via the following channels:
i) Log on to m1.com.sg/connectingtones
ii) Log on to MiWorld Mobile on your mobile phone > Music > M1 Connecting Tones (standard data charges apply.)
   
Q21 How much will I be charged for “Connecting Tone as Gifts”?
A21
You will be charged the usual connecting tone rate of $2.14 per connecting tone per calendar month for all tones sent as a gift. For the gift recipient, the gifted tone will be free for the first month. Subsequently, if the gifted tone is the recipient's only connecting tone, it will be recurred at $2.14 per connecting tone per calendar month. If the recipient has more than 1 connecting tone in his/her library, the gifted tone will be recurred at $1.61 per connecting tone per calendar month.

Q22 What is “Music Box”?
A22 Music Box contains a bundle of 3 connecting tones. When you set a Music Box as “My Personal Connecting Tone”, the 3 connecting tones will be played randomly for your callers.
   
  Create Your Own Music Box
Q23 What is “Create Your Own Music Box”?
A23 You can create your own Music Box with a bundle of 3 connecting tones from a predefined list. All connecting tones in your Music Box will be played randomly.
   
Q24 How much is a self-created Music Box?
A24 Each Music Box is chargeable at $4.28 per month.   
   
Q25 How many self-created Music Box can I purchase?
A25 You can have up to 20 connecting tones in your library at any one time. Each Music Box purchase is counted as 1 connecting tone.
   
Q26 Can I purchase a self-created Music Box via “00”?
A26 No, you cannot purchase Music Box via “00”.
   
  DIY Connecting Tone
Q27 What is DIY Connecting Tone?
A27 DIY Connecting Tone is a self-created connecting tone where you can use it as your connecting tone. You can record the connecting tone by calling 101* or upload the connecting tone file via M1 Connecting Tones website. Terms and conditions apply.
   
  Copy Connecting Tone
Q28 What is Copy Connecting Tone?
A28 Copy Connecting Tone allows you to copy connecting tones from your friend’s library, except DIY Connecting Tones.
   
Q29 Can I choose not to allow my friends to copy my connecting tones?
A29 Yes, you can opt out from “My Library”.

  Terms & Conditions
  • +   For M1 Connecting Tones Service

    1.
    Subscribers on $4.28 monthly subscription are entitled to 1 free connecting tone* or 1 free connecting tone change per calendar month. 1 free connecting tone* or 1 free connecting tone change is not applicable for DIY Connecting Tone and Music Box. Subsequently, first tone purchase shall be chargeable at S$2.14 per calendar month. Thereafter, other additional connecting tone purchases shall be chargeable at $1.61 per tone per calendar month.
    2.
    Additional connecting tones purchased are valid for the duration of the same calendar month in which the purchase is made. Charges will apply on a pro-rated basis depending on when the purchase is made. A monthly recurring charge occurs every subsequent calendar month if you do not delete the connecting tones from "My Library".
    3. For "Connecting Tone as Gift", the sender of the connecting tone will be charged for the purchased connecting tone for the first month. The recipient will be charged for subsequent months' usage.
    4.
    For M card/SuperPac customers, subscription and connecting tone charges will be deducted from the Super IDD balance (if applicable), then the main card balance. In the event that any deduction for subscription is unsuccessful on any month due to insufficient card balance, customer's M1 Connecting Tones account will be suspended for a maximum of 3 days. Customers need to perform a top up within 3 days and request for the suspension for the account to be lifted via 101*. Once unsuspended, the account will be active again. M1 reserves the right to revise the terms and conditions herein from time to time by notice to the customer in such manner as M1 deems appropriate, which may include publication of such revisions on M1's website. The customer shall be deemed to have accepted any such revisions by his continued use of the Service.
    6. M1 reserves the right at any time to add, remove, vary or replace any connecting tone at its sole discretion without assigning any reasons whatsoever, with or without notice to the customer.
    7. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and the customer accepts that he accesses or uses it at his own risk. M1 does not guarantee the availability or continuity of the Service at all times. Without prejudice to the foregoing, M1 shall not be liable for any damages suffered or incurred by the Customer which may arise (whether in contract, tort, including negligence under statute or otherwise) by reason of or in connection with the provision of the Service.
    8. No delay or failure by M1 to take any action or to enforce or exercise any of its rights in this Agreement will operate as a waiver of such rights by M1, nor will such failure or delay in any way prejudice or affect M1's rights at any time thereafter to act strictly in accordance with our rights in this Agreement.
    9. If any of these Terms and Conditions is held to be unenforceable, invalid or illegal for any reason, that provision shall be severed from these Terms and Conditions, save and except that the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
    10. The use of the Service is subject to M1 Limited's General Terms and Conditions, any specific terms and conditions for the provision of the Service and such other terms and conditions as may be agreed or accepted by the customer. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between these terms and conditions herein, such conflict or inconsistency shall be resolved in a manner most favourable to M1 and its affiliates, as determined by M1 at its sole and absolute discretion.
     
    *Not applicable for customers on the Subscription Waiver Promotion.
     
  • +   Terms & Conditions for Subscription Waiver Promotion

    1. M1 Limited ("M1") is holding a Connecting Tones Subscription Waiver Promotion (the "Promotion"). You are deemed to have agreed to these Terms and Conditions by your participation in the Promotion.
    2. The Promotion will be held from 01 January 2013 00:00hrs until 31 December 2013 23:59hrs ("Promotional Period").
    3. The Promotion is open to all M1 GSM Postpaid and M1 Prepaid subscribers/customers who signed up for M1's Connecting Tones Service [Subscription Waiver Promotion] (the "Service") during the promotional period. M1 reserves the right to not allow participation by any person, at its sole discretion.
    4. Customers who subscribe to the Service will each receive a default M1 connecting tone for free. The first connecting tone purchase shall be chargeable at $2.14 per calendar month. Subsequent connecting tone purchases shall be chargeable at $1.61 per tone per calendar month. A monthly recurring charge occurs every subsequent calendar month if you do not delete the connecting tones from "My Library".
    5. For M Card/SuperPac customers, connecting tone charges will be deducted from the Super IDD balance (if applicable), then the main card balance. In the event that any deduction for connecting tones charges is unsuccessful on any month due to insufficient card balance, customer's connecting tones in "My Library" will be removed and may be switched to the M1 default connecting tone. In such event, customers will need to repurchase any deleted tones which they wish to retain after they have performed a top up / reload.
    6. M1 reserves the right at any time to add, remove, vary or replace any connecting tone at its sole discretion without assigning any reasons whatsoever, with or without notice to the customer.
    7. You take part in the Promotion at your own risk. M1 shall not be responsible for any interruption to your downloads and/or purchases arising from, including without limitation, any interruption or downtime to your Internet connection or any other reason or cause as the case may be.
    8. M1 reserves the right to amend or vary the Terms and Conditions of the Promotion with or without prior notice to you. All amendments will be published online at www.m1.com.sg/connectingtones.
    9. M1's General Terms and Conditions and the Terms and Conditions for the Connecting Tones Service published at www.m1.com.sg are deemed incorporated herein and shall apply. Any conflict or inconsistencies shall be resolved in a manner most favourable to M1 as determined by M1 at its sole discretion.
  • +   For DIY Connecting Tone

    1. The DIY Connecting Tone Service is for personal use only. The copying and sending of DIY Connecting Tones is not allowed.
    2.
    Customer is solely responsible for all content uploaded under the DIY Connecting Tone Service. M1 and/or its business partners do not make any representations, warranties or endorsements, express or implied, about the suitability or non-infringement of the content.
    3.
    In no event shall M1 and/or its respective business partners be liable for any special, indirect or consequential, incidental, punitive damages or any damages whatsoever (including without limitation, damages for loss of business, profits or revenue, business interruption, or loss of business information), whether brought in an action of contract, negligence or other tortious action arising out of, relating to and/or in connection with the use, performance of and/or reliance on information or material contained in or accessed from the DIY Connecting Tone Service, even if M1 has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
    4. You will:
    a.
    only submit content which has been created by you;
    b.
    not submit content which infringes any third party intellectual property rights, failing which you will indemnify M1 for any loss or damage caused by any such infringement;
    c.
    ensure that the content does not contain coarse or vulgar language;
    d.
    ensure that the content does not contain or suggest material that is defamatory, pornographic, racist, abusive, malicious, profaning or derogatory (towards an individual or business entity);
    e.
    ensure that the content complies with the Voluntary Code for Self-regulation of Mobile Content in Singapore as jointly developed by M1, SingTel Mobile and StarHub Mobile and stated on our website www.m1.com.sg.
    5.
    M1 reserves the sole right and discretion to remove any DIY Connecting Tone which does not comply with these terms and conditions and Customer shall have no recourse against M1 caused by or arising from such removal.

    M1's General Term and Conditions and specific terms and conditions where applicable, as stated at www.m1.com.sg, are deemed incorporated herein and shall apply.
